JOHN WESLEY BRASWELL (Playwright) Born and raised in New Jersey, Mr. Braswell has lived for many years in and around Phoenix Arizona, in the Valley of the Sun, before recently returning back home. He has written several plays and has had numerous productions. His play, Jersey Girls has been produced in community, regional, and off Broadway theaters in New Jersey and New York. Another play, The Dying Room has had staged readings at the Playwrights Theatre of New Jersey and The American Film Institute, in Los Angeles. His play, The Dying Room has won awards in the Garden State Writers' Challenge and the Zoetrope Writers' Contest. Another play, Save the Last Dance, won first place in the VSA National Wordsmiths Competition. He has also published short stories, poetry and written screenplays, winning awards in the Garden State Screenplay Competition, The Kaos International Screenplay Competition and Gimme Credit Screenplay Contest, for his latest screenplay, The Last Supper. Currently he is at work on his first novel. |
