MARIO FRATTI (Playwright) Mario Fratti is a drama critic and playwright born in Italy who has been living in NYC since 1963. His plays Cage, Suicide, Return, Refusal, Refrigerators, Academy, Seducers, Victim, Che Guevara, Young Wife, Birthday, Mothers and Daughters, Eleanora Duse, Mafia, Gift, Races, Bridge, Lovers, Friends, Encounter, A.I.D.S., Porno, Two Centuries, Dolls No More, Family, Sister, Leningrad, and Passionate Women, have been performed in more than 600 theaters in 19 languages. His musical Nine, an adaptation of Fellini's film 8 1/2 , won the O'Neill Selection Award, the Richard Rodger's Award, the Outer-Critics Circle Award, the Leone di San Marco Literary Award, the Heritage and Cultural Award, 8 Drama Desk Awards, and 5 Tony Awards.
