MARY FENGAR GAIL (Playwright) Ms. Gail's plays include Drink Me, Touch of Rapture, Gift of a Thousand Tongues, The Island of No Tomorrows, The Judas Tree, and The Spell Caster. She has had workshops and productions at various theatres including the Sundance Institute, the New York Stage and Film Company, the Eugene O'Neill National Playwrights Conference, the Collaborative Arts Project 21, MultiStages and the Abingdon Theatre of New York, the InterAct Theatre of Philadelphia, the Salt Lake Acting Company, The Utah Shakespearean Festival, the Moxie Theatre of San Diego, and the Kitchen Dog Theatre of Dallas. She is a recipient of the Arnold Weissberger Award, the National Children's Theatre Festival Award and the Playwrights First Award for Opaline. Her play, Devil Dog Six, received the 2007 Craig Noel Award for Outstanding New Play by the Theatre Critics of San Diego. Ms. Gail recently received commissions from South Coast Repertory of Costa Mesa and the National New Play Network, as well as a playwriting fellowship from the California Arts Council. She has moved to New York where she is working with the New Jersey Repertory Company on the musical, Soul on Vinyl, with the composer, Dennis McCarthy. NJ Rep has also produced Touch of Rapture and staged readings of Opaline, The Wormwood Chronicle, and Devil Dog Six.
