JOHN GOING (Director)
has staged plays on Broadway, Off-Broadway, internationally
and in regional theatres across the country, including Seattle Repertory,
Hartford Stage, Houston’s Alley Theatre, New Jersey’s Paper Mill Playhouse
and South Coast Repertory among many others. His New York credits include
Hizzoner! on Broadway, which subsequently traveled to Moscow, and
A Breeze From the Gulf, Lola and One Step at a Time Off-Broadway.
His many regional credits include the Repertory Theatre of St. Louis (Gross
Indecency, The Heiress, Man and Superman, Pygmalion), Washington’s
Studio Theatre (Love! Valour! Compassion!, The Women), Salt Lake
City’s Pioneer Theatre Company (Picasso at the Lapin Agile, The Crucifer
of Blood), Maryland’s Olney Theatre where he is Associate Artistic
Director (Light Up the Sky, Hay Fever), Cincinnati Playhouse (The
Importance of Being Earnest, Harvey, Inherit the Wind, The Chery Orchard,
Man of LaMancha) and the Opera Theatre of Saint Louis (Don Pasquale).
A four time Helen Hayes nominee, Mr. Going won the Outstanding Director
award for The Miser atthe Shakespeare Theatre in Washington, D.C.,
Mr. Going has directed Katharine Houghton as Portia in The Merchant
of Venice and as Nina in The Seagull. He also serves as an
officer on the Board of the Society of Stage Directors and Choreographers. |
