RICHARD VETERE (Playwright) Mr. Vetere wrote the novel The Third Miracle, published by Simon & Schuster, and co-authored the screenplay adaptation starring Ed Harris, Anne Heche, directed by Agneiszka Holland and produced by Francis Ford Coppola.  His plays, published by Dramatic Publishing, include Machiavelli produced Off-Broadway at the ArchLight NYC (Evan Bergman director); Caravaggio at Silk Road in Chicago; One Shot, One Kill, Primary Stages NYC (Joe Brancato director); The Vows of Penelope Corelli at Penguin Rep; others include Gangster Apparel, The Classic;  Hale The Hero!; The Engagement.  He wrote the movies The Marriage Fool starring Walter Mathau and Carol Brunet and How to Go Out on a Date in Queens starring Jason Alexander, both his screenplay adaptations of his stage plays and his original screenplay Vigilante starring Robert Forester.  His TV work includes Threat Matrix for ABC and Dellaventura for CBS.  He teaches a master screening at NYU, intro to film writing at Montclair State and Queens College and starts teaching playwrighting at The New School in Jan.  He has a master's degree from Columbia University in comparative English Literature.  He was recently commissioned to write the book to the musical Be My Love: The Mario Lanza Story for Phil Ramone and Sonny Grosso and he has also been commissioned to write the stage adaptation of Alfred Hitchcock's Rear Window for the stage.  He just completed producing and cowriting a short film You & Me with director Eddie Shieh.  In 2006 Stony Brook created the Richard Vetere Collection and Archive at the Frank Melville Library.  He is a member of Writer's Guild east; Dramatist Guild, Author's Guild, Red Rope Playhouse, NY Playwright's Lab and Poets & Writers.  His one act An Epic Story of Love and Sex Told in Ten Minutes: Chapter One was just named one of the best one acts of 2008, is being published by Smith and Kraus and can be seen in workshop at Manhattan Theater Source in Jan.  Mr. Vetere is a born and raised New Yorker.  Vetrich88@aol.com.
