Donna Marrazzo, Creative Director & Instructor

Donna Marrazzo has been teaching the craft of acting since 1983. Early in her career she was fortunate to be affiliated with two of our country's most renowned regional theatres, the Studio Arena Theatre, and the Walnut Street Theatre, where she was a faculty member for over 10 years.

In addition to her work at New Jersey Rep, Donna has her own studio in NY, Donna Marrazzo Studio, which she founded in 2001. She currently teaches film acting at Mike Lemon Casting, and is a faculty member at Adelphi University 's Theatre Department. Donna also enjoys coaching her many private clients, both actors and those in the corporate environment.

After receiving her B.F.A. in drama from Adelphi University, Donna continued her training, studying with Salem Ludwig, George DiCenzo, and most importantly Fred Kareman, where she had intensive training in the Meisner Technique. She has also had the pleasure of studying with two of the leading voice teachers of our time, Kristin Linklater and Cecily Berry .

Donna's students have gone on to work in independent and feature films, television, theatre, and commercials throughout the country.

 

Barney Fitzpatrick, Instructor

Barney Fitzpatrick's film credits, Woody Allen's Mighty Aphrodite, The Dead Cat, A Normal Life, Bravo Giorgio and Hollywood , PA. Starring roles in the TV series Our Teenagers in Canada and A War of China's Fate, also The Chappelle Show, Law & Order, Ed and All My Children. New York theatre credits include the Off-Broadway production of The Caine Mutiny Court-Martial, Stealing Fire, Moony's Kid Don't Cry.

He was producer and founding member of The Artist's Theatre Company where he appeared in productions of The Perfect Party and Social Security and at NJ Rep in The Girl with the High Rouge and the title character in Emil. He has also been teaching in the corporate environment for more than twenty years and most recently with Donna Marrazzo Studio in New York .

Barney also studied with several of America 's master teachers of the craft, Stella Adler, Bobby Lewis and Uta Hagen, whose written works still inspire him today.

 

Michael Irvin Pollard, Instructor

Michael began his improv training in 1983 as a founding member of Off The Cuff, a professional company sponsored by one of the leading regional theatres in the country—The Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park. Off The Cuff enjoyed a successful two-year run at various venues in and around the city of Cincinnati .

After relocating to New York in 1986, he continued working with improvisation as a founding member, featured performer and Artistic Director of the companies Prov.Duh and Clockwise From Left. These troupes enjoyed critical success at various venues in New York including the Avalon Theatre, the Westside Arts Center and the West Bank Café .

Michael has taught several improv workshops for touring theatre students on behalf of ArtsGenesis, a Jersey City based arts-in-education company. He was also a featured performer for ArtsGenesis' own professional improvisational production of Virtual Theatre. Additional improv teaching credits include two years at the Union County Teen Arts Festival in Cranford, and, most recently as a guest instructor at the Pioneer Valley Summer Theatre in Easthampton, Mass.
